Review applications

Use Applications in the staff portal to move applicants through review and onboarding.

The review journey

StageWhere to workOutcome
ShortlistingReview ApplicationsAssigned reviewer scores the application and records a shortlist decision.
Panel reviewReview ApplicationsProgramme decision-makers record a panel recommendation.
University verificationUniversity VerificationLiaison staff verify enrolment information.
Final decisionMovement DecisionAuthorised staff accept or decline the application.
OnboardingCohort InvitationsAccepted applicants receive invitations and complete onboarding.

Each stage requires its own access. A person who can read a record may not be able to submit the next decision.

Review an assigned application

  1. Open Review Applications and filter the queue.
  2. Open the assigned record and read the submitted answers and supporting material.
  3. Review any AI-assisted evaluation alongside the original application.
  4. Complete the required scoring and recommendation.
  5. Submit and verify the application’s updated status.

Verification and final decisions

Liaison officers should follow Verify an application for their scoped queue and the three required checks. Use University Verification to record the required checks. Use Movement Decision for the acceptance decision, then Cohort Invitations to manage invitations and onboarding outcomes.

Fast-track decisions

Authorised users may fast-track an application past remaining review stages. This records the skipped stages as fast-tracked. It does not prove university enrolment: where verification was skipped, the university queue may still require retroactive verification.

Check the application history before taking further action, especially after bulk decisions or a fast-track.
